Understanding Pay-Per-View on BIX

Pay-Per-View is an optional pricing model that allows creators to earn more based on the number of views their sponsored content gets.

What is Pay-Per-View? Pay-Per-View is an optional pricing model that allows creators to earn more based on the number of views their sponsored content gets. When a brand purchases a service from your profile, they can either pay a One-Time flat fee or choose the Pay-Per-View option, which automatically increases the total price by 35% and compensates you based on performance.

How It Works

  1. Upfront Payment: If a brand selects the Pay-Per-View option, you receive 20% of the total payment upfront.
  2. CPM-Based Earnings: The remaining balance is paid at a rate of $20 per 1,000 views (CPM – Cost Per Thousand Views/Impressions) on your sponsored post.
  3. View Tracking: BIX tracks the views or impressions on your post over the next 30 days to ensure accurate payouts.
  4. Max Payout Calculation: Once the post reaches the required number of views, you receive the full remaining balance. If the post doesn’t reach the max view count within 30 days, you’ll still get paid for the views you did achieve.

Let's See An Example

  • You create a service for 1 Instagram Reel at $500.
  • A brand chooses Pay-Per-View at checkout, increasing the total compensation to $675 (35% increase).
  • You get $135 upfront (20% of $675).
  • The remaining $540 (which is $675 minus the $135 upfront you already received) is paid at $20 per 1,000 views.
  • To receive the full balance, your post needs to hit 27,000 views ($540 ÷ $20 × 1,000 views).
  • If you only reach 15,000 views, you’ll receive $300 instead of the full $540 (your total compensation would be $300 + $135 upfront).

Why Choose Pay-Per-View?

  • Higher Earning Potential: If your content performs well, you can make more than the flat fee.
  • Guaranteed Upfront Payment: You still receive an initial payout, even if you don’t reach the full view count. Creating content takes time, so it's important you're still guaranteed compensation!
  • Performance-Based Compensation: The more engagement your post gets, the more you earn.
